Hui.mang

Who this is for

  • People automatically accepting invitations
  • People comparing every alternative
  • People checking alerts during gatherings

The worry that something will pass you by

FOMO means fearing that you will miss what others enjoy. JOMO refers to pleasure in choosing not to participate. Neither is a formula for every invitation.

Check Question
Expectation What do I want to do there?
Time Can I manage travel and the return?
Energy How does it fit existing plans?
Alternative What would I do instead?

Pause comparison after deciding

You can say, “Not this time, but thanks for inviting me.” Promise to attend later only if you want to.

If you attend, try staying with the conversation instead of checking other events. Turning off one alert is a start.

Hui.mang note

A short decline is enough. Reply promptly if the host needs to adjust plans.

Hui.mang

Note de Hui.mang

Punto Pregunta
Expectativa ¿Qué quiero hacer allí?
Tiempo ¿Puedo hacer ida y vuelta?

Hui.mang
